Bianchet Winery and Bistro

Enjoy the rustic, family friendly charm of Bianchet Winery and Bistro with their alfresco dining and live entertainment while sharing a platter of local produce and tasting their wide range of wines or a great coffee with a delicious dessert. Looking out their full length glass windows at rows of chardonnay and rolling, tree-studded hills gives visitors a true sense of the Bianchet tradition.

Vines were first planted in 1976 the owners Lou and Theresa Bianchet. Lou established their verduzzo vines, and to this day Bianchet is one of only two vineyards in Australia growing verduzzo commercially. Their complete range of wines also includes merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, shiraz, malbec, pinot nior, chardonnay and traminer.

In 2008 the Aquaro family took over the property and have built a cellar door, a new wine bar complemented by a tapas bar, and have revamped the alfresco area for customers to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of cosmopolitan tradition. Bianchet Winery and Bistro now also cater for all functions.

Tasting Notes

2009 Bianchet Shiraz

Spice and dark fruit cake characters feature on the nose and palate of this wine. Good fruit weight and length has been supported by toasty oak flavours from one year in 50 per cent French oak barriques. Definitely a keeper, although this wine has great drinkability now.

2008 Bianchet Verduzzo Dolce

This rare Italian varietal is grown and made at Bianchet from vines planted in 1976. It displays savoury nougat characters on the nose with a rich, layered and lingering palate. This wine may be enjoyed now or cellared for further development.
